The Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles is a nonprofit organization funded by caring people like you, and there are many ways to support this life-saving work. As a 501(c)(3) public charity, all donations are tax deductible. Unless otherwise indicated, your gift will be used in the area of greatest need.
Leave a Legacy of Giving
Your commitment to support the Marine Mammal Care Center through a bequest, charitable trust, life insurance policy or other gift in your financial or estate plans will help ensure this life-saving work continues for years to come.
A legacy gift offers a special way to make a lasting impact. That’s why every donor who makes a legacy commitment will be recognized as a member of the Marine Mammal Care Center Legacy Circle.
Make a Stock or IRA Gift
Gifts of stocks, bonds and mutual fund accounts may provide considerable tax advantages when used to fund a charitable contribution gift to Marine Mammal Care Center. Both appreciated and depreciated assets can offer tax-wise advantages.
For donors who are 70½ and older, the U.S. IRS allows you to make a distribution directly from your IRA to Marine Mammal Care Center for up to $100,000 per year. For married couples who each have an IRA, the limit is $200,000 per year. Many donors do this each year as a way to satisfy the IRA’s required minimum distribution rules.
Make a Gift Online or via Check
The most direct and convenient way to make a gift is by credit card online. Making a donation online to the Marine Mammal Care Center is fast and secure, and can be done using Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
Donation via PayPal and Venmo is another option.

Make a Gift in Honor or in Memory
You can give a gift that keeps on giving by making a donation in a loved one’s name.
Simply check the box on the online form indicating you would like to dedicate the gift.
You’ll be able to choose whether the gift will be honoring a loved one or in memory of someone who has passed. You can then enter the person’s name as well as additional comments such as notes about commemorating a special occasion (such as a memorial, a birthday, a wedding, etc.)
If you prefer to mail a check or cash, simply include this information with your contribution.

Prefer to purchase an item rather than make a financial gift? You can help support daily hospital operations by providing in-kind donations of the supplies we use every day. From nutritional supplements for our patients to disinfectants for cleaning our hospital, our wish list is specific to our work.
Make a Gift from your Donor Advised Fund
Gifts from your Donor Advised Fund offer an easy way to support Marine Mammal Care Center. You simply need to share the following mailing address with the Donor Advised Fund’s administrator when you recommend a grant:

Find Out if Your Employer Matches Gifts
Your gift may be able to be doubled or tripled if your company offers a corporate matching program. Many workplaces will match their employees’ charitable contributions. Some matching gifts programs also include gifts by spouses or retirees. If you or your spouse work for a matching gift company, please request a matching gift form (from your Human Resources office) and enclose it with your gift. It’s a great way to double or triple the value of your gift to Marine Mammal Care Center.
